1. Controller
We are the controller for personal data collected through GoWild.gr. For privacy requests: support@gowild.gr.
2. What we collect
We collect what is needed to run a classifieds marketplace:
- Account details: name, email, hashed password, optional phone and social links.
- Content you post: listings, photos, messages, questions, reviews.
- Contact form: name, email, subject and message — delivered to the platform inbox; not stored as a separate database record.
- Technical data: IP address, user agent and request URL as recorded by hosting.
- Preferences: language, theme, results layout — stored locally or in necessary cookies.
3. Why we process it
Legal bases are mainly contract performance (providing the service) and, where needed, legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention, product improvement) or consent (e.g. newsletter).
- Creating and managing your account.
- Publishing listings and buyer–seller messaging.
- Email notices for messages, reviews and account security.
- Fraud prevention, rate limiting and abuse mitigation.
- Product analytics (see PostHog below).
4. Processors
We use third-party processors under data processing terms. Recipient categories:
- Vercel — hosting and edge network (requests, session cookies in transit). EU region where available.
- Neon — Postgres database for account and content data (EU-region project).
- Cloudflare R2 — listing photos and avatars (EU bucket jurisdiction). EXIF/GPS is stripped before upload.
- Resend — transactional email (recipient address and notice content).
- Pusher — realtime notices with thread/message ids only, never message bodies (EU cluster).
- PostHog (EU) — product analytics: pageviews and usage events. We do not send email or phone as event properties; identification uses your account id when signed in.
- Sentry — if enabled for errors: stack traces and URLs, without default PII in request bodies.
5. Cookies and local storage
We do not use third-party advertising cookies. Cookies and local storage we set are necessary for the feature you asked for:
- Better Auth session cookie — sign-in.
- NEXT_LOCALE — the language you chose.
- theme — light/dark preference.
- Results layout preference (grid/list) in localStorage.
- View-count dedupe cookie for listing visits.
6. Retention and erasure
We keep data as long as needed for the account and legal duties. Account deletion anonymises your personal fields; counterparties may keep a record of a transaction they were part of.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability, and lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority. Email support@gowild.gr.
8. Changes
We update this policy when processing changes. The “last updated” date shows the current version.
